I stopped by One Charming Party and they have an awesome tutorial with a modern take on the candy necklace!  With Valentine's Day just around the corner this would be an adorable craft to do with your little chickadees, or just a little something something to make for yourself.

Just a few of the shows I would look forward to after a long day at school :)  Man, to go back to those days when all you have to do is go to school, come home, play, eat, sleep, then wake up and do it all over again.  *sigh*

Who's Too CUTE this Tuesday? .....

                              
This “interview” is typed exactly how Jailyn told the reporter (her mom).  



My {name} is Jailyn Micah Berryhill but my daddy calls me Jai. My sisters call me Jai-boogie and my mom calls me Jai Jai. And I answer to all four names. Oh and my Granny calls me Sweet Potato.

I feel my {special talent} is singing and dancing; especially Hip Hop. Right now my favorite songs to sing are Keri Hilson’s “Pretty Girl Rock” and Willow Smith’s “I Whip My Hair”. I like those types of upbeat songs because I’m pretty upbeat. I like ballet but I really enjoy dancing like Michael Jackson and Ne-Yo. They’re pretty good at dancing like me.

Right now my {funny face} is my smile because I lost my two front teeth. Another funny thing is I’m shy. Then when you are my friend I talk a lot.

 I {love love LOVE} Alvin and the Chipmunks. I have both movies. I got the Squeakquel for Christmas and I’ve seen it 20 times already. Alvin is so cute I wish he was real. I also love Hello Kitty. I have a lot of Hello Kitty purses, erasers, coloring books, pencils, and other stuff that’s really cool. My sister Ambria likes her too so I keep my Hello Kitty away from her. I also love all the characters on pbskids.org. Oh and I love animals. I love ALL animals especially tigers. I have a tiger named Tyler and I sleep with her every night. I want a real one but my daddy said NO!

Let’s see what else {about me}? I’m not a baby. My sisters are in high school and I’m in kindergarten. I want to go to college.

I love my family but I’m really close to my daddy. He’s my bff and so is Lauren and Anna from my school.

I love to read. I love my teacher, Mrs. Marshall, and school, Mt View. I love kindergarten, math and PE. I have a lot of friends!

                                                                                                                                             

I like to stay up real late and don’t like to sleep in my room. My favorite colors are pink, brown and green. I like to play all kind of sports but I’m not a tomboy. I beat my mommy in Wii bowling and Amani in golf. I’m getting a new puppy in five weeks because my dog, Remi, is with God. I’m so excited I can’t wait.

I love to play in the snow. We had snow the other week and I made an angel. I had a snowball fight with my sisters.

{Nicknames} Syd, Syd bug, Nugget, Sis, Girlie

{Talent or Trick} She's super flexible and has a memory that won't let up. We haven't really discovered any really out of this world talents or tricks yet, but we're finding new things everyday :)

{Favorite Characters} She LOVES Hello Kitty right now and Barbie, iCarly and Hannah Montana. She's so into anything girlie and pink!

{A little more about Syd:} Syd is so much fun and is a HUGE Daddy's girl. She makes us laugh daily and lives for it. She is such a comedian but in a weird way is sooo shy even around us. If we catch her singing when she doesn't want us too she clams up. She's so silly like that. Something different about Syd than almost all 6 year old is that she has a cataract. We discovered it when she was 4 and we've been watching it since. They're pretty sure she was born with it so it's sort of a birth mark but lucky for us at this point it hasn't gotten any bigger and doesn't need removed just yet. Her vision is altered some from it but her other eye makes up for the loss and we never knew. If she hadn't failed her eye test at her 4 year old pediatrician visit who knows when we would have figured it out.

She loves music more than life and enjoys cuddling! It's hard to believe she's 6.

this year thus far.

So far 2011 has been quite the rollercoaster for me. Coming off a wonderful 2010 I thought things would only get better…..and I'm sure they will eventually.

There are many changes and displaced emotions going on in my work life. I’m not sure exactly how to handle them so for now I’m just riding the wave and going with the flow.

As for personal life I’ve seemed to hit a rough patch but am sure it will be smooth sailing again soon. Bill took me to the doctor on Tuesday after I hit a 101F mark and miserably sick. After discussing some other symptoms I’ve had for over a month the doctor informed me that she believes I have had an early pregnancy miscarriage….[world stops spinning for me right around here]

What do you do when you hear news like this? The doctor assured me that its common and ok, then shared with me that she had experience the same thing with her first child. I was dumbfounded so all I could manage were off beat nods.

Bill comforted me on the ride home, and he held me so tight while sobbed into his chest I thought he just might break me. I was really torn up about this, but over the days have come to understand that it was not time. The conditions weren’t quite right and it just wasn’t meant to be yet. One day, we’ll be blessed with a little mix of Bill and I – just not now.

My love and family life has made up for all the crappiness that has been 2011 so far. Hubs has been strong and the comforting voice of reason. He’s shown me more TLC than usual and been a saint for being so accommodating to my ever changing moodswings.(ah, the wonderful cycle of my hormones: I’m so angry! I’m so sorry! I’m so sad! I’m so happy! And so forth – I tell ya hubs is ah-mazing!) Our sweet and silly boy has been just wonderful too. Whenever he see’s that I’m down he comes up to me and gives me a big hug and tells me he loves me.

Yeah, I can take anything 2011 brings as long as these two are by my side.



conspiracy theory

I think that hubs has hidden my favorite grey cardigan.  He does after all, do all laundry.  And has mentioned more than once that he is not a #1 fan of said cardigan.  However, after multiple questionings he still stands by his orginal statement that he has not seen it or know of its current whereabouts. 

I am on to you husband.  Yes indeed.

sweet shower *surprise*

I'm always looking for new ways to surprise Bill and let him know I hearts him. 
(especially after a long week of him driving me into work b/c of the snow and having wine and dinner ready when I get home because of the crappy-o-crapola week I've had.)

Here's one of my favorites that I thought I'd share:

Pick up some "dry erase" crayons at your local craft store:


Sneak off to the bathtub:

Prepare a special note right on the wall of tub:

Wait for unsuspecting victim to stumble upon message:

Stumble upon your very own little shower surprise:

Easy peasy.  And when you fill up the walls you can wash them right off in the shower! (together, if you want to be extra romantic - giggidy giggidy)

Try this!  Thank me later.  ; )

just one of those days....

You know when something happens in your life and you feel like your whole world stops? Then you look around and wonder how everyone else can still be so peachy keen?  I'm having one of those days. 

Trying to stay positive and keep my chin up.  Hopefully that will get my world turning right round again.

Here's to hoping your world is spinning at just the right speed.
